The Scarpa Manta GSB excels in winter walking, where crampons are used for extended periods. Close to a staggering 10% weight loss has been achieved by moving to the New GSB- Jorasses sole unit and pro-fiber midsole, in turn the boot has been lowered, making it more dexterous and stable underfoot.
Despite the weight reduction we have been able to add a generous rubber rand, which adds protection and abrasion resistance. The Last changes to DL has proven to be exceptionally comfortable and universal in its fitting ability.
GSB Notes - Air Tech crampons will be supplied with 2 linking bar options, asymetric and regular, this allows versatility across a range of differing boots, however the regular bar is the most compatible with the Manta. Inside the crampon you will find a set of yellow/plastic shims that clip into the front of the crampon, these shims allow height / fit adjustment across a range of GSB boots. It is important to use the thicker shim version on the Manta to aid fit and performance.
