Vango tents - Who hasn't spent a night under Vango canvas?

Force Ten below the Buachaille

Vango say that "For over 40 years the Vango name has been synonymous with producing tents that suit the needs of those wanting to spend time in the outdoors: from weekends away in the countryside to a family summer holiday in Europe to an all encompassing mountain expedition."

But is that really possible? Can a manufacturer be all thing to all people: a master of all?

There is no doubt that the mass market love Vango tents - pound for pound they offer more than most with an excellent product that performs well and is extremely dependable.

Family tents are particularly popular with Vango concentrating on their technology based, lightweight tents, some of which, such as the Colorado, Verona, Diablo and Tigris models, are of epic proportions.

In the core tent market of the 2 Person Tent Vango offer a mammoth 20 different options (all of which are listed here) so it's fair to say that if Vango is your brand of choice you won't struggle to find the perfect tent.

For those looking for a more performance defined tent Vango's high end offering uses the well established Force Ten Brand.

Force ten tents first appeared in 1967 with the now famous orange canvased range burst onto the tent market in the UK. It was the first mass market tent that gave everyone access to high performance camping equipment enabling them to attempt serious pursuits.

Force ten very quickly became the standard choice for professional and amateur expeditions and since that time, over 3,000 international expeditions have enlisted Force Ten to tackle the worst the planet can throw at them, and can vouch for the legendary durability and outstanding stability of the Force Ten Classic.

Four decades on, Vango's team of designers, engineers and outdoor aficionados have taken Force Ten to even higher levels with a new generation of performance Tents.

Force Ten's pedigree was recently reinforced when one of Britain's leading mountaineers, Alan Hinkes became the first Briton to climb all 14 of the world's 8000m plus peaks after successfully reaching the summit of Kangchenjunga.

So Vango do seem to be doing what they've set out. They deliver all things to all people and unless you're a brand snob you'll probably find what you're looking for at less than equivalent brands.
